Re: Cheltenham 2024
Problem with a course of antibiotics is it takes circa 2wks to get over the effects of the medication
CH will not be at 100% for the Champion Hdl.
No matter how good he is & how much better he might be than the opposition he'll be hard pressed to win not being at 100%.

The issue with Shishkin is he has to run past the off-chute to the stables 3 times in the Gold Cup.
He'll be slowing down when he is going up the straight 2nd time round.
He'll then run slow until he reaches the top of the hill when he'll realise the quickest way to the stable is not going back the way he has come.
Shishkin is an 'in-play' runner.
He'll be travelling worst of all when he races out into the country for the final circuit but from top of the hill he'll come home very quick.

Re: Cheltenham 2024
Il be astonished if constitution hill turns up . Apparently tomorrow is D day . Unless the antibiotics he's being given are working straight from the off he won't run . I'm half expecting shishkin to win the gold cup . I don't think Cheltenham is his track but the rest of stamina will suit him .

Re: Cheltenham 2024
Was chatting with David Casey at Gowran on Red Mills day.
I have socialised with him in the past.

After talking about Liverpool & Waterford hurling I asked him had he any tips for Cheltenham.

He said Ballyburn & Lossiemouth.

I asked him about Mystical Power as I had a small boosted odds bet on him for the Supreme after he won the Moscow Flyer.
On homework Ballyburn is way better.
They thought Mystical Power was useless.
He was in the yard as a 2yo & was sent back to the owner.
They said he was so bad he'd never win a race.
He then won a bumper in Ballinrobe in the summer & he said that will tell you how bad they thought he was.
He keeps surprising them with his performances on the track.

I inferred from what he said that they don't trust MP to perform on the track. They don't want him as their primary hope in a race as he has been showing them for yrs that he is pretty ordinary.
He wasn't sure what race MP will run in as the owner has another horse for the Supreme.

I think they're happy to have Ballyburn as the main challenger for the Supreme & they can then throw numbers at the Baring Bingham to topple Slade Steel.

Lossiemouth will stay in the Champion Hdl until as late as possible & will run in that if something happens to CH & SM - but something would have to happen to both.

Pressed him for another horse & he said GDC.

So that's three short priced ones for you.

Have to see how the ground is still I think, rain forecast

Will probably have a lump treble on Sir Gino, El Fab and wherever Ballyburn goes
